Setup of Mobile Printer

Step 1: Perform a printers list refresh seen in the Android AiO Remote App 

Even after a successful completion of a setup on the app, it would take several minutes before the AiO Remote app detects and display the printer on the network.

  1. When you open the AiO Remote app, on the home screen tap on the printer icon to display the printer list.
  2. Now refresh the list of printers by tapping the Refresh icon.
  • If your HP printer appears in the list, then the printer setup is finished and you don’t need to move forward with troubleshooting anymore.
  • If your HP printer does not appear in the list, then power off your HP printer and wait for about 60 seconds and then power on your printer. Step 2: Network and printer working status check

Here you will check if your network is working correctly and that the printer is ready to be setup with the network.

  • Check if the mobile device is connected to the network: Open the Wi-Fi settings in your mobile device and ensure that you’re connected to the same wireless network that you would have the printer connected to.

  • Wireless Connection: Check the light next to the Wireless icon on the printer and if the icon is steady or blinking.   • Wired network connection: Ensure that the cable connected to the router is connected to the printer’s Ethernet port end. The sign of whether the cable is connected can be conformed through signal and activity light. They must be glowing green (solid) and orange (blinking) respectively
  • Check the router’s frequency band: Routers usually operate in the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands, but most HP printers do not support both frequency bands. Make sure that the 2.4 GHz router band is enabled with your router. If your router broadcasts separate network names (SSIDs) for each band, then connect your HP printer to the 2.4 GHz band SSID.   • Disable the Smart Network switch on Samsung Android Device: Make sure the Smart Network switch is disabled in the Wi-Fi settings or Advanced settings of Samsung android devices. (Note: This is not a feature on all Samsung Android devices)
  • Check if the printer is not in Energy saving or sleep mode: You must make sure that your printer is active and is ready for the wireless printer setup.

Step 3: Retry the setup of your printer with AiO Remote app

You have now made sure that the network is working and that your printer is ready for the network setup. Now you will setup your printer on the network with the AiO Remote app. For Step by step instructions and solution for all the issues

Open the AiO Remote app home screen and tap on the printer icon to see the list of wireless printers.

  • If you see your printer in the list with HP-Setup > [OfficeJet series] under the printer listed, then select this printer, and then you must follow the on-screen instructions to setup your printer.
  • If your printer does not show up in the list, then tap the option My printer is not listed, tap Help Set Up a New Printer, and then follow the on-screen instructions to set up your printer.

If the mobile setup continues to fail for your wireless printer, move forward to the next step.

Step 4: Connecting your printer manually to the network

Now you try to connect your printer to your wireless network manually so that the AiO Remote App can find your printer.

The HP printers that have a touch or text navigation control panel have a

Wireless Setup Wizard tool through the Setup, Network , or Wireless menu. You can use this guided setup interface to select your network name and enter the password to connect with the printer to your network.


In cases where the network name (SSID) and password is hidden, then you will need to manually enter the network name and password into your printer.

  1. You will need to collect these following details:
  • Network name (SSID)
  • Network security password (WEP key or WPA passphrase)
  • A computer needs to be connected to your wireless network.
  1. Detach any USB or Ethernet cables that maybe connected to your HP printer.
  2. Select the Setup, Network, or Wireless menu that is seen on the printer control panel.
  3. Select the Wireless Setup Wizard, then follow the panel displayed instructions to connect the printer to your network.
