HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 Printer Printing Specification

  1. Black Print resolution

The black print resolution is the quality of the print in black printing.  When you use a computer to print a file the resolution is up to 300 x 300 dpi in draft mode, 600×600 dpi in normal  mode, 600×600 dpi in print-best mode.

  1. Color print resolution

The color print resolution is the quality of the print in color printing. The resolution is automatic draft, normal, print best and in Photo  best papers with 600 x 1200 dpi when printing your photos or documents.

  1. Print method

The print method  used is Drop on Demand (DOD) which is categorized into  inkjet printing technology where the print head ejects the drop only when it is needed. Within the print head, the drops are formed by the creation of a pressure pulse. Thermal and piezoelectric are the two classifications within DOD to create the pressure pulse.

  1. Device languages

The device language used is HP PCL 3 GUI which is one of the version of PCL. PCL is used to control printer features through many printing devices. PCL 3 is a superset of PCL 2 with high-quality and added functionality.

  1. Print speed

In pages per minute (ppm) for 1-sided and image per minute (ipm) for 2-sided. The print speed in black is up to 30 ppm in draft mode,  20 ppm in ISO mode, up to 9 ipm in Duplex mode, up to 3.5 ppm in best mode and first page out is 12 seconds

The print speed in color is up to 26 ppm in draft mode, Up  to 11 ppm in ISO mode, up to 6 ipm in Duplex mode, up to 2.5 ppm in best mode and first page out is 15 seconds

  1. Duty cycle

The duty cycle of the HP OfficeJet 6970 printers are up to 20000 pages per month.
