The wired or Ethernet connection and Near Field communication are not the supported connections method.
1. Wireless network connection
Follow the below guidelines to setup the wireless network connection.
Requirements
- The requirements are Service set Identifier(SSID) or network name, WEP key or WPA security passphrase, a computer with wireless network connection and an internet access to setup the wireless network connection. It is recommend to use the broadband connection as it will help in using Web services.
- Turn on your computer and printer. Make sure that your computer and printer are at the same network. If you have any signal problems, make your printer to be in contact with the computer and in the range on the router during installation.
Driver installation
- Download and install the most current version from support.hp.com and enter your printer model number. Follow the onscreen instructions.
- Otherwise you have to follow the instructions in HP installer software. If you are not interested , you can go with the installation CD.
- Visit 123.hp.com to enter your model number and click Begin to start the download.
- You have to click Download and click any one button such as Open, Save or Run in any windows to display to download the driver.
- Double-click on the downloaded file to start the installation wizard
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to finish the setup and driver installation. Then return to the page to complete the registration and activation
Connecting to wireless network

2. USB connection

Requirements

- Do not connect through a USB hub or docking station which leads to improper working of the printer. Use the USB port on your computer to connect.
- Continue to remove the printer from installed devices to help ensure a successful setup, before installing the HP printer driver. Otherwise skip to next step.
- Delete the previously installed printer version from your Windows computer before setting up for the USB connection. Remove the USB cable.
- In Windows, search for devices and click the Devices and Printer control panel settings in the results.
- Search for your printer model and right-click on it to remove by clicking the Remove device. Remove all the multiple icons existing for the printer
Driver installation

- Visit the site support.hp.com to download the software and driver downloads. Type your printer model and check whether the operating system compatibility
- ClickDownload next to the full feature driver. Follow the instructions that appear on the instructions to the HP Download and Install Assistant or select Download Only to save and run the driver file from your computer.
- Choose a printer connection option. Select the USB connection and complete the installation setup successfully
3. Wi-Fi direct connection
- Print your documents or photos on a secure Wi-Fi capable computers and smart devices after activating HP Wireless direct on your printer.
- You will have the HP wireless direct button on the control panel. If not, go to the Network Setupor Wireless Settings menu and touch Wireless Direct, and then turn on the connection.
- Choose ON or ON with Security (optional). Make note of the passcode and click OK, if you require password when you are connecting to the printer
- Click Settings and click Wi-Fi. Choose the HP-Print printer model from the list of available networks on your mobile device. Type the security passcode from the printer control panel if you are prompted.
- Open the file either a photo or document that you wish to print and click Print from the app menu or the action menu. Install the HP ePrint mobile app from the Apple or Google play Store if your app does not support printing
- Choose your printer model from the list of available printers that are connected in the network and click Print After the print job gets completed, you should reconnect the mobile device to your normal wire network.
- You are connecting to the printer, choose ON or ON with Security (optional). Make note of the passcode and click OK
- Click the Wireless icon in your computer and select the from the available printer list on your computer or laptop. Type the security passcode from the printer control panel if you are prompted to do so.

Gather the requirements such as Android OS version 4.0 and later versions or Amazon fire OS with 4.1- 4x and 5.1 or 5x or later versions.
Connect to a wireless network using the Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone. Check whether the wireless signal is switched on and the printer is connected to the same wireless network as your mobile device.
