123 HP Officejet 3830 Printer setup

Connect the printer to your computer, mobile device, or network using the following connectivity methods in your 123.hp.com/oj3830 HP OfficeJet 3830 printers. Some of the connectivity methods are Wireless connection method, USB connection  method, Wi-Fi Direct method. The wired or Ethernet connection and Near Field communication are not the supported connections method.

1. HP OJ 3830 Wireless network connection

Follow the below guidelines to setup the wireless network connection.

Requirements

  • The requirements are Service set Identifier(SSID) or network name, WEP key or WPA security passphrase, a computer with wireless network connection and an internet access to setup the wireless network connection. It is recommend to use the broadband connection as it will help in using Web services.
  • Turn on your computer and printer. Make sure that your computer and printer are at the same network. If you have any signal problems, make your printer to be in contact with the computer and in the range on the router during installation.

HP OJ 3830 Driver installation

  • Download and install the most current version from support.hp.com and enter your printer model number. Follow the onscreen instructions.

  • Make sure your Android devices and your printer are connected to the same wireless network. Keep your Android device near your printer.
  • Download and install the HP smart app from the google Play Store on your Android device. Open the app and tap Start and accept the terms and conditions. Tap to Continue.
  • Tap the plus sign to search for the printers that are connected to the network in the home screen of the app. Tap the printer in the list of printers connected to your wireless network.
  • Click the Add Printer if you are connecting to a new printer and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
  • To install the HP smart app in your Apple iOS devices, make sure your printer is switched on and check whether your Apple iOS device is connected to the same wireless network as your printer. Download and install the HP smart app from the App store on your Apple iOS device.

  • HP smart app helps you to scan using the printer and save it on your device or in a social media account. Keep the file in a scanner glass or automatic document feeder and open the HP smart app.
  • Tap Scan, Scan to Email or Scan to Cloud based on your scan Click the Settings icon and select the Input Source for the scan to choose between the document feeder of scanner glass. Tap Done or Save and tap Save to check the scan and border adjustment accordingly. Tap Send, Save, Share or Print based on the scan type to complete the scan.
  • To scan a file using your mobile camera device Select the file and open the Smart app. If you use the Android device, tap Camera Scan to Email or Camera Scan to Cloud, or Document Capture or simply tap the Camera icon. If you use the Apple iOS device, tap Scan to Email or Scan to Cloud, and then tap the Camera You can also tap the Scan icon. Select the picture and confirm the scan by placing the finger on the blue dots to adjust the border manually. In your Apple iOS device, select Auto or Manual mode Modify the scan settings and scan additional pages if needed.

  • Disable the USB connection otherwise your printer will not print using the HP ePrint service.

A blank email subject line will lead to HP ePrint error or it will cancel the print job. Open office files are not supported. Printing on both sides is not supported.

3. HP ePrint Mobile app

HP ePrint App is a mobile application which allows you to print any supported HP printer connected on the same wireless network. The HP ePrint app is retired for Apple iOS devices.
