The software installation can be done by two methods. Download the software by either using the software installation CD that comes along with your printer or by downloading the printer software and driver from the HP website.
You might use the installation CD to install the software quickly, but the disadvantage of the installation CD is that it might not have the current and latest version of the printer software and driver even though the printer is new.
You can download the printer software from 123.hp.com or from support.hp.com to download the most current version of your printer software without any issues while installing the software.
Before setting up the printer driver and software in your device, you need to gather some important requirements that are needed for software installation.
The requirements are network name(SSID), network password also known as WEP or WPA security passphrase, a computer with wireless network and a broadband internet access is recommended. An USB cable is required but not mandatory to setup the wireless connection
Disconnect the USB or Ethernet cables otherwise the printer will not connect to a wireless network. Some of the other things to be followed are to connect the printer and computer on the same wireless network.
Keep your computer and printer within the range of the router to avoid signal problems. Keeping the printer away from router range will lead to failure in software installation due to signal problem
Use the wireless setup wizard on the printer to connect the printer to your network.
Connect the printer to a wireless network connection during the installation when the HP installer prompts you to do so. Make sure that your wireless router has WPS push button connection type.
To make the wireless light blink, you have to press and hold the wireless button until it starts blinking.
Make sure you press the WPS button on your wireless router within two minutes. The network connection between the printer and wireless network establishes automatically. Start the software and driver installation as the printer is connected to wireless network.

You have to download the most current version of the printer from 123.hp.com or support.hp.com
An auto wireless connection screen displays during installation, complete the wireless setup. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the setup.
Disconnect the USB cable if you have connected. You can download the full feature driver or basic driver according to your wish.
If you download the HP EasyStart it will hep you to install the setup easily and give step by step instructions .
The HP Easy Start dialog box will appear to select your printer. If you cannot find the printer, then click My Printer is Not Shown.
Click Continue and click Wireless network in your device if it is available. Otherwise click Continue and follow the instructions on screen and finish your wireless setup.
